I describe the pure act of intuitive painting as a continuous evolving dialogue that releases and reveals itself to me with each movement of my hand in communion with my emotional, spiritual and physical existence.  It is the bridge that equips me to connect at a greater level of consciousness with the world around me.  Fueled by the compulsion to capture each instant of that conversation, I work spontaneously and rely on the emotive nature of color and the unexpected emergence of form and shape to direct me as I layer, build,  deconstruct, express and interpret; creating an existence that wasn’t there before. Dependent upon this vulnerable process, my paintings reflect a perpetual state of freedom and restraint, both within myself and with the paint.  The convergence of this dichotomy propels the painting to embrace a life of its own. I paint with urgency. I paint to connect. This vocation, this necessity to paint, is my pursuit to authentically connect with people and the divinity that exists within all human souls, purely by means of expression.  It is my attempt to offer the viewer an experiential moment of relational existence, thereby becoming an extension of the work with their own interpretive response to the dialogue that I began.
